The people talking
about their lives
and planning
actions
and reactions to the deeds
of others with opinions
formed or opinions
culled
and repeated
and circulated thus
so that these thoughts in circulation
encircle the lives that form them
and a tower goes up
on the outskirts of the village
to which everyone recurs—refers
with slant-long glances
down in the shadows of it
